The evaluation revealed evidence of deposits dating to the mid-late medieval period associated with a building probably domestic. Three structural features were found a mortar-rendered clay wall, an edge-set brick hearth/fireplace and an associated warming shelf or utensil support. This has been interpreted as part of the kitchen range at the rear of a house fronting onto Strand Street. To the north part of the town wall, showing two building phases, and probable postern gate due to its relation to the Guestling channel.(1)
