Medieval farmhouse dating from around the 15thC. A double fronted house with central chimney brick chimney stack (the top has been rebuilt), it has not been altered very much. A small leanto extension is built on the west end and an outshot roof at the rear. The ground floor is brick on the front elevation with very small, possibly Tudor bricks and a boarded timber frame at the sides and rear. There is vertical plain tiling with decorativebands to the first floor with a plain tiled half-hipped roof. The windows are timber casements, with those on the first floor front projecting on decorated wooden brackets. The doors are vertically boarded. The leanto is timber framed and weather-boarded. The farm lies at the southern end of the park close to Penshurst Place and may have replaced Well Place as the Home Farm.(1)
