Summary

A one man surface shelter is located adjacent to the spitfire monument near the musuem to the north of Manston airfield. This World War II monument is a former Royal Observer Corps one man surface air raid shelter: it is circular in shape with a conical roof and there is an eyebolt in the roof that was used for a crane to lift it into position.

One man surface air raid shelter, circular with conical roof and eyebolt in roof for crane to lift into position. Situated adjacent to Spitfire Memorial and plaque describes it as a one man ROC post (1)
