Irregular octagonal pillbox of c1940 date at S edge of Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, near road (1)

Description from record TR 35 NE 267:
This pillbox is unusual in shape similar to a stretched Type 24. It is constructed of brick with concrete filling the cavity space and concrete roof. There are seven loopholes at the normal level and below these are blocked up larger loopholes which were probably for Boys Anti-Tank Rifles. There is one door and no internal ricochet wall.
