Name:Chalk pit at Crispe Farm, Acol

Summary

A post-medieval chalk pit was formerly located at Crispe Farm, on the South side of the Crispe road, 500m to the east of Acol. This feature is not present on the Ordnance Survey 1st ed map (c.1861). It is marked on the 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map (c.1895) as 'Old Chalk Pit'. The outline of this pit is marked on the 3rd and 4th edition maps (c.1905 - 1940) however nothing is now visible at the site.
