Summary
One of two chalk pits previously located at Bromstone (see also TR 36 NE 348). The two are marked on the 1st edition Ordnance survey map as 'Old Chalk Pits' (c.1858-1873) and on the 2nd edition map both are individually labelled as 'Old Chalk Pit' (c.1891-1898). The boundaries are visible on the 3rd edition map of c.1905-1922.
