A brickfield and clay pits are marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map of c.1858-1873. A brick kiln is also marked. The name changes to 'Old Clay Pit' on the 2nd edition of c.1891-1898, and is no longer marked on the 3rd edition of c.1905-1922.
