Summary

Shown on a plan of 1895, but removed within ten years. The north-eastern corner of the bastion retains an emplacement. West of the emplacement are two hoists, one for shells and the other for cartridges, raised for the stoes below. The store is preserved but its brick-lined rooms are partially filled with rubble. Over it lies a mound supporting a direction finder, comprising a platform with low concrete parapet.

On No.1 bastion. Single concrete gun pit for a 6-in. BL gun on a disappearing carriage (1), site photographs (2,3).

Shown on a plan of 1895, but removed within ten years. The north-eastern corner of the bastion retains an emplacement. West of the emplacement are two hoists, one for shells and the other for cartridges, raised for the stoes below. The store is preserved but its brick-lined rooms are partially filled with rubble.
