A small, Late Middle Acheulian handaxe was found June 1966 by Miss Susan Kelvey, Spring Lane, Ightham. Brought into Maidstone Museum for identification (1) and find-site (quarry) plotted onto 6" at TQ 60355634.(1-2) The Kelveys, formerly of "Morewell", Spring Lane, have moved away. The find-site, is a large overgrown chalk quarry.(3) Additional bibliography - not consulted.(4)

2015 Volunteer Project suggested that TQ 65 NW 48 may correspond to NWK-6, No. 26 + 40 from the Southern Rivers Palaeolithic Project. May also relate to TQ 65 NW 4 (note made in record).
