Ightham, Brickearth Pit in Styants Wood, near Crown Point: Palaeolithic flake found in situ by Prestwich in late 19th century (1); site also frequented by Benjamin Harrison (2) and deposits reviewed by Dines (3). A retouched flake held in Maidstone Museum was recorded by Roe in the 1960s (4), possibly the same find initially reported by Prestwich (1).
