South Ash: Palaeolithic handaxe from tree-planting pit, and surface-finds of debitage. handaxe discovery reported in late 19th century (1), and collection of flakes (presumed surface-finds) in British Museum and Maidstone Museum recorded by Roe in the 1960s (2).
