Summary

A number of reinforced trenches were dug along the top of the outer banks of the spur redan on the northern side of Dover castle, were constructed during WWII. These were built as part of the emergency fortification of the castle after the fall of Dunkirk in 1940 so that it could withstand a siege in the event of invasion. The ones on the western side have been reinforced with a concrete breastwork. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
