The carpenters hop has been located within a number of different buildings within the Citadel. When it was first constructed, between 1871 and 1888, it was located against the north wall of the Coal Yard, at its eastern end. A second carpenters shop was constructed at some point before 1897 though this had moved again by 1933 when it is located in the disused Dining Room just east of the West Face and West Flank Casemates. The carpenters hop has been located within a number of different buildings within the Citadel. When it was first constructed, between 1871 and 1888, it was located against the north wall of the Coal Yard, at its eastern end. A second carpenters shop was constructed at some point before 1897 though this had moved again by 1933 when it is located in the disused Dining Room just east of the West Face and West Flank Casemates.
