[TQ 76 71 - sited to Lower Upnor only] Bronze Age sword with flanged hilt having fifteen rivet holes for attaching wooden or bone hilt plates was found in the Medway near Upnor. Now in the British Museum (1). A sword from the Medway at Upnor Reach is 31 1/4inches long and 1 7/8 inches wide at the broadest part (2). Unable to gain access to site location in 2004 as area is used by the military. (3)
